The Cayman Islands lives up to the Caribbean’s reputation for renowned world-class diving. Our warm, calm waters, 100 ft. plus visibility and breath-taking variety of marine life offer numerous and exciting logbook entries. Each island features very different diving adventures for divers of all levels.
GRAND CAYMAN
Northwest Point Drop Off
Is located in a mixing zone of currents from the north and west walls, and has filter feeders like orange elephant ear sponges and deepwater gorgonians. Look out for green sea turtles as well.
Tarpon Alley East
This site got its name from the school of tarpons that reside there. It also features interesting coral formation and marine life.
Chinese Garden
This site boasts a huge diversity and quantity of marine life.
Babylon
This site is only 300 yards offshore but is best done by boat. With rough ironshore giving way to a wall of coral pinnacles, there are many great swim-through, tunnels and caves. Watch for the occasional shark and mantas.
Stingray City
A fantastic 12-foot dive on a sandy seabed in Grand Cayman’s North Sound.
The Maze
This dive provides many interesting tunnels that wind through the wall starting at 65 feet. Sheltered from the currents and surge in the deep curving tunnels, divers can sneak up on pelagics like bull, Caribbean reef and blacktip sharks, as well as spotted eagle rays. In summer months, keep an eye out for migrating pilot whales, and, during plankton blooms, also rare manta rays and whale sharks. A site recommended only for advanced divers.
CAYMAN BRAC
MV CAPT. Keith Tibbets
This is the only divable Russian warship in the Western Hemisphere, so it is immensely popular and exciting.
Anchor Wall
The wall starts deep, in about 70 feet of water. A 10-foot anchor is sitting between a coral chimney and a mini-wall.
LITTLE CAYMAN
Great Wall
Starting in less than 20 feet of water, the wall is vertical into the deep blue. Divers will find grouper, spotted eagle rays and the occasional blacktip shark.
Mixing Bowl
This is one of the most popular of Little Cayman’s Bloody Bay Wall dives and lies at the meeting point of Bloody Bay Wall and Jackson Point.
